The Manager of Rehabilitation Services directs and oversees the operations of the Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation for both the hospital and it’s off campus satellites.  Managerial duties include fiscal management, human resource management, asset resource management, operation management and communication, strategic planning and information management.  In addition performs patient evaluations and effective delivery of treatments. Communicates and participates with physicians, nurses and other members of the health care team to provide quality health care.


Skills / Requirements

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes and directs the Rehabilitation Service department.
  • Plans, evaluates and develops existing and new program components to include estimates of facility, equipment, personnel requirements, coding, pricing and reimbursements.  
  • Develops and enhances Rehabilitation Service performance by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality and patient-service strategies.
  • Develops Rehabilitation Service financial strategies by estimating, forecasting and anticipating requirements, trends and variances. Developing action plans and initiating corrective actions to minimize variances.
  • Develops Rehabilitation Service organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction.  Establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Evaluates and recommends new Rehabilitation Service treatments.
  • Develops policies and procedures to ensure overall quality and compliance of Rehabilitation Services in accordance with state and national requirements.
  • Ensures conformance with applicable accreditation, licensing and quality assurance standards
  • Coordinates Rehabilitation Services with nursing and other medical personnel.
  • Develops human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, coaching, counseling, disciplinary and communication programs. Utilizes Performance Manager for staff evaluations.
  • Enhances Rehabilitation Services reputation by exploring and participating in outreaches, community education and projects and other opportunities to bring value and growth to Wickenburg Community Hospital.
  • Prepares required reports, statistics and surveys to document Rehabilitation Services.
  • Attends Leadership Meetings as the representative from Rehabilitation Services and serves on various committees as assigned.
  • Promotes and adheres to the hospital mission and values
  • Delegates’ responsibilities to staff as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Responsible for Coaching, Financial Planning, Decision Making, Process Improvement, Initiative, Legal Compliance and Strategic Planning.
  • Abilities: Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Telephone Etiquette, Customer Service, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Scheduling, Professionalism, Quality Focus and Bed-side manner.
  • Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office 

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate from an accredited  Master’s degree program in Physical Therapy
  • Licensed with the Arizona State Board  of Physical Therapy
  • Minimum 5 years of Management experience in a hospital Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation Department with a proven record of developing and growing new services and trends.
  • Experience in physical growth and expansion of Rehabilitation departments required.
  • Must be CPR certified
