General Description

Our Virtual MAs are integral to our clinic/hospital and are responsible for assisting Providers with medical treatment of patients within a patient-centered philosophy.  The MA assists with daily functions of the Clinic

Essential Job Duties

  • Work virtually at home during assigned hours without interruption in a segregated area behind closed doors in the home.
  • Answer and triage phone calls from patients
  • Documentation in EHR, past medical history, social history, surgery history, immunizations, and update medications
  • Return voicemails
  • Deliver messages to providers
  • Call patients with results
  • E-scribe prescriptions to pharmacy
  • Assist providers as needed
  • Update ordering list with any needed supplies and medications
  • Assist in chart documentation for quality purposes to ensure that provider coding and documentation matching
  • Serve as liaison between Provider and other hospital departments as necessary
  • Verify ancillary orders/ requisitions
  • Open tickets for Information Assistance
  • Assist with administrative and patient assignments as needed

Other (Non-Essential) Duties

  • Other duties as directed by Clinic Supervisors, or Clinic Administrators

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must reside in the state of Arizona
  • Medical Assistant the intent to become a Certified Medical Assistant, CCMA or Registered MA within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain accurate records with attention to detail
  • Function in a team environment with courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of patients and other team members
  • Good organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year of recent experience working in a providers office

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Being able to work at fast pace, Multitasking, Lots of walking
  • Must be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and adapt quickly to clinic EHR
