The Employee Health/Procedure Nurse position will be responsible for the management of employment related health issues (40%) and provide direct patient care to those patients requiring special procedures or when a critical short-term need arises in one of the nursing units (60%).

Skills / Requirements

Essential Jobs Duties:

  • Oversees the TB screening program, both initial and annually
  • Oversees the annual influenza immunization program
  • Oversees the workplace injury/exposure program, ensuring appropriate follow-up and reporting as required
  • Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation for all programs
  • Provides direct patient care for those procedures requiring 1:1 nursing, such as nuclear scans, interventional radiology procedures, elective cardioversions, etc.
  • Provides assistance to the nursing units when a critical short-term need arises (rapid deterioration of a patient, cardiopulmonary arrest, stroke)

Other Job Duties:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to employee health
  • Provides training and education around a healthy workplace
  • Maintains the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each patient for whom care is provided
  • Assures compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned
  • Upholds the mission and vision of the hospital
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • RN currently licensed by the State of Arizona
  • Previous experience in employee health preferred
  • BLS, ACLS required
  • Demonstrated competence in procedural sedation
  • Critical Care Experience
