Job Description

The Cash Poster receives payment from patients & insurance companies, posts all payments, reconciles daily cash, verifies account balances, prepares refunds and maintains records, reports and files.

  • Performs daily charge/payment batching
  • Reconciles daily dept. deposits
  • Communicates with payers & software vendors for missing electronic remits
  • Reviews, monitors and take corrective action with appropriate depts. & CFO to assure accrued patient billing
  • Performs daily adjustments on patient accounts to reflect accurate balances
  • Daily Admissions for Pharmacy
  • Daily census for Pharmacy
  • Abides by all HIPAA rules
  • Assists with special department projects
  • Deposits cash daily at local bank
  • Effective communication skills

Skills / Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Works with computers in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Knowledge of medical terms preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to work with more than one software program at a time
  • Sit at desk for hours at a time
  • Able to walk up/down stairs
  • Work multi-line phone
